Supporting sustainable economic growth across Derby & Derbyshire

The Derby & Derbyshire Economic Partnership (DDEP) is one of seven Sub-regional Strategic Partnerships (SSPs) set up by the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) in 2003.

Our aim is to stimulate, develop and bring forward a range of sustainable economic opportunities in Derby & Derbyshire and improve the prosperity and overall environment for businesses, communities, individuals and visitors.

Derbyshire is at the forefront of a range of new and innovative developments designed to engage people of all ages and social backgrounds.

DDEP's region covers the City of Derby and the borough and district councils of Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash, High Peak and South Derbyshire. From the rolling hills of the High Peak to the vibrant heart of Derby City, we offer an exciting environment to live, work and play.

DDEP - April 2009 - emda announcement

Emda has announced that from April 2009 responsibility for investing Single Programme Funds in Derbyshire will pass from DDEP to the City and County Councils.
Whilst we are still working out the detail and how this will be implemented, we continue to operate normally and will continue to respond to partners' needs as effectively as we have always done. We will keep you informed as the arrangements develop.
Partners holding contracts of confirmed funding in future years are assured of continued support and your contracts will, as of 1 April 2009, be novated either to the City or the County.
All new applications for funding will be approved after consultation with, and the agreement of, the relevant City or County Council and will novate as of 1 April 2009.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all partners for your support during the last five years.

Kevin Edwards
Chief Executive
